Using with Novell networks and Windows NT 3.51

Some Novell networks do not support long filenames. If yours does not, errors will occur if you try to perform replacements on files residing on your server. This is because by default, Windows Grep will append .new or .bak to the original file name which results in a longer than 8+3 filename.

To force the use of short filenames, check the box on the Preferences dialog, Compatibility tab.

Windows NT 3.51 does not support the retrieval of the file type text that is displayed in the file list. This column will be blank when running Windows Grep under this platform. In addition, icons displayed to the left of filenames may also be blank. There are also some minor cosmetic problems, which I am currently unable to correct.

Windows NT 4.00 supports file types, and Windows Grep correctly displays it.
